It’s a great place to get the first two meals of the day with the family, with a great selection of exactly what’s on the sign as well as breakfast burritos, sausage and biscuits, and all the traditional breakfast fare. If you’re really hungry, George’s 22nd Century Big Omelet will fill you up, and if you like your breakfast spicy, the “Burn The Town” hashbrowns have the jalapenos you’ll love. For lunch, there’s a great selection of burgers, sandwiches, and the ½ lb Chicken Fried Steak. Alamo Pancake & Steakhouse Grill Can’t decide between breakfast and dinner? Don’t at Alamo Pancake & Steakhouse Grill. Yes, you’ll find something for almost any craving here, from large stacks of pancakes to classic Mexican entrees, to juicy steaks. The appetizers alone offer nachos, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, chile con queso, and more! We love the sizzling hot fajitas or the Green Chile Cheesburger. The steak menu includes ribeye and top sirloin, and there’s seafood options like grilled catfish too. There are so many options, we haven’t found a favorite yet. The whole family will enjoy the atmosphere and the menu, which offers lots of options for even the youngest and pickiest eaters. There’s kids’ menu that offers burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, quesadillas, and even a classic PB+J on white! The parents will enjoy larger helpings of most of these options (except the PB+J) as well as some great Mexican options, wings, patty melts, and some nice salads if those calories are adding up. Here are a few of our favorite places to visit when the winter months roll around. more Hit the Slopes You won’t have to travel far to enjoy a fun family ski trip. Ski Cloudcroft is the southernmost ski area in New Mexico and just minutes from us in Alamogordo. You’ll have 25 trails to choose from as well as other great activities if you’re looking for more relaxing options. If you’re new, the Cloud Nine Ski School will get you up to speed, or the winter tubing slopes don’t require any skill at all. Ski and snowboard rentals are available if you’re not bringing your own equipment. Another great option nearby is Ski Apache, just about an hour and a half northwest of town. You’ll have over 55 runs and trails to traverse there, along with rentals and lessons as well. Ruidoso Festival of Lights Parade Visit Wingfield Park on December 3rd to enjoy the Ruidoso Festival of Lights Parade. Bring an unwrapped toy for donation to Toys for Tots and spread holiday cheer while enjoying the parade, drinking some hot chocolate, and seeing Santa and his reindeer! Christmas on the Pecos For lovers of the trail of lights, consider floating by instead of driving with the light displays of Christmas on the Pecos. Set in Pecos River Park in Carlsbad, it’s a short drive over from Alamogordo to enjoy a spectacular light display on the shores of the Pecos River. The forty-minute boat tour will glide past Santa’s workshop and various southwest-themed light displays, all enhanced by the reflections in the water. Tours open on November 25th and run through December 31st. Oliver Lee Memorial State Park Winter is the perfect time to visit our nearby state parks. Top of the list is Oliver Lee Memorial State Park, which offers a range of fun activities for families, especially ones with a new Jeep from Casa CDJR. The park offers extensive hiking trails as well as camping areas if you plan to stay a little longer. The spooky season is here and we’re excited to celebrate along with our Alamogordo neighbors. There is no shortage of Halloween-themed fun to be had in town this year, so Casa Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram decided to share some of the things that our staff is excited about! From hay rides to haunted houses there is a little something for everyone in the family. Get into the Halloween spirit early as Scare Mart will be open starting the weekend of October 1st and every weekend leading up to Halloween. 6-7 pm is kids’ hour, so you can enjoy the event with younger members of the family. There’s more than just the haunted house to enjoy, as the event features scary movies, food trucks, and music! You can save on admission by bringing a canned good donation that supports local charities. Halloween at The Kiva 2022 This Alamogordo tradition returns for its 35th year! Celebrate the season with a headbanging live concert featuring Jebadiah’s Mistake. Other acts in attendance include Burning Sunday, Aggressor, and more! The event includes a bonfire and costumes are very encouraged. The theme this year is “The Creature from La Luz Creek!” Halloween at The Kiva happens on October 22nd, 2022, in La Luz, just a short trip north of Alamogordo. Tularosa Trunk or Treat Take a slightly longer trip north to Tularosa on October 29th to enjoy the Tularosa Trunk or Treat celebration. This family-friendly event kicks off at 5 and lasts until 8 pm. It includes lots of great activities for the whole family. You’ll find live music, kids’ games, a haunted maze, and, of course, costume contests and trick or treating. You won’t have to fill up (completely) on candy because food trucks will be on site. That’s some of the Halloween events we’re excited about this year. Casa began in 1969, under the stewardship of Wally Lownfield. Wally lived in El Paso all his life, went to El Paso High, and eventually attended UTEP. He served in the Navy during World War II and returned home to graduate and become a successful entrepreneur. That lead to the purchase of El Paso Ford in 1969, which was renamed Casa Ford and is still going strong today. Casa grew with the addition of what would become Casa Nissan about ten years later. During Wally Lowenfield’s time at the helm, he served on the National Dealer Council for Ford Motor Company and eventually became Chairman. Today his descendants keep up the traditions Wally started, growing the Casa Auto Group in El Paso to four dealerships, which now include Casa Kia and Casa Buick GMC, along with the original Casa Ford and Casa Nissan. These dealerships have been repeatedly recognized by their OEMs for their excellence in serving the El Paso community.
